Samantha Echo is a singer, songwriter, and actress noted for her powerful Spinto Soprano voice, stylistic versatility, and entertaining stage banter. At the age of six, she taught herself how to sing by singing "Colors of the Wind" (Menken/Schwartz) over and over again, and subsequently began studying bel canto (opera) technique at the age of seven. She loves incorporating mythology and fairy tale imagery into her music videos.
Echo’s eclectic style of songwriting is one that she likes to describe as “Theatrical Femcel Pop,” because her melodies are inescapably Disney-esque (you can take the girl out of the musical theater but you can’t take the musical theater out of the girl), and because her lyrics tend to focus on themes like unrequited and forbidden love, and the challenges of being, well, a femcel, just like her namesake from the Echo and Narcissus myth.
Echo’s music video “Nick’s Mom” was described by actress Ruby McCollister as “the most beautiful, nuanced work of our time.” Samantha’s off-Broadway credits include Lucy in the new musical “LUCY/BLUEBEARD” (Ed Levy/Eric Grunin) at Theatre Row as part of the First Fifteen Minutes festival, and Mrs. Hale in Trifles: the Musical (Ed Levy, Alexander Craven) Lincoln Center Library’s Across a Crowded Room Showcase. Film credits include Connie Converse in the short film Marcel's Promise (2026). Other highlights include a featured interview on CUNY: Study with the Best, an E.P. titled “Drown out My Dreams,” featuring selections from the 1982 film The Last Unicorn.
